The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) set out its plans for 2027 on 8 October 2026, and the headline is money: the tour says it will double professional prize money next season.

The calendar

  • 12 nationally televised APP Tour stops in the US, each with a national linear broadcast on ESPN and CBS Sports.
  • More than 60 events on the global calendar in the APP's ninth full season, including the APP Moneyball Series, APP Asia Tour events in Malaysia, Japan and Vietnam, and GPA-affiliated tournaments in Europe, Australia, India and beyond.
  • Hundreds of hours of extra livestream coverage on top of the TV windows.
  • The Shriners Children's APP Pro Invitational returns with a new Southern California edition.

A first for amateurs

Every 2027 APP event will be a USA Pickleball Golden Ticket tournament for the 2027 and 2028 National Championships, a first in APP history. That gives amateur players at every stop a route to Nationals. Registration is already open for the season opener, the 2027 APP Boca Raton Open.

Why it matters

APP founder Ken Herrmann framed the prize money and livestream increase as a direct investment in the players. The tour hasn't published dollar figures yet, but doubling pro purses would make the APP a much bigger draw for touring pros, while the broadcast deals put the sport in front of more casual fans than ever.

Closer to home, the APP's 2026 season still has a big date for the region: the APP Dubai Open runs 21 to 25 October.
